Questions of curiosity ? as I do not know the answers ?
(hoping this don't break the house rules)

who are Camelot ? (who run the British national and Euro lotteries)
who are the directors ?
what are their wages ?
who are they accountable to ?
who are the share holders ?
and where do they bank ?
who gets all the interest on £millions made ?
as when the worlds financial institutions went and ruined many economies and Joe Public around the world now has to pay for it.
Nothing was heard about Camelot loosing £millions ? so their bank/s can't have had financial difficulties ?

They are a consortium currently made up of Thales electronics, Royal Mail, De La Rue , Cadbury Schweppes and Fujitsu, although the membership of the consortium has changed over the years - Cadbury and De La Rue are the only companies that have been in it since the beginning.

Well, most of the money that they get coming in goes out again in prizes or contributions to good causes. So they don't actually have a lot (relatively speaking) sitting in a bank account.

From a quick look at their accounts, they have about £60m on deposit, and their last accounts give a note detailing the credit ratings of the banks used (all very sound, no Icelandic banks etc). Their interest income is certainly lower in 2010 than it was in 2009 - down from £5.7m to 0.3m.

But they brought in a stonking £5,452m last year from ticket sales(and that was up from £5,149m the year before), so those cash at bank and interest figures aren't a big factor.
