This evening I can offer the following advice.
Don't try to bleach the loo when you have come home from several hours down the pub. At least, not if you have carpet.

By the looks of it, the previous owners of our house did that once.
We got rid of that carpet as soon as we could!

Can I just make it clear that the bleaching event was simply the sort of houskeeping that seems like a good idea at the time for no particularly good reason and not a response to any pub generated grime.
