What was your drive to work like this morning?
MonkeyS- all revved up with no place to go Started conversation Jul 1, 2010
My route to work is about 7 miles, across Coventry via the ring-road. It's usually a fairly hazardous journey, even on the best days.
There seemed to be a lot more traffic on the roads today. Got cut up more than usual, too. Isn't it about time BMW and Audi supplied indicators with their cars?
How was your journey, does it take you on a mad, circular route through town, or do you get to enjoy the peace and tranquility of a scenic ramble through the countryside, or even better, along the coast?

Living about 600 metres from work, I don't drive.
It's a short and enjoyable walk, although it can be slightly annoying when the "driving-to-work"-ers get all excited and start honking *as well as* making you breathe their exhaust fumes...

Ooh, well, my drive to work this morning (tuesdays and thursdays) involved driving around the ring road from my village just inside it to another village just outside it to see to my friend's horses. Then a loevly drive from there round to work which is in a suburb of Bristol about a fifteen minute drive away from the horses.
Monday, wed and fri I am now cycling which involves a heft climb up a hill through a park by a pond and a grand house, through a horrible brand new middle class housing estate, past a university, poast the MOD building (all on cycle paths) and then a short bit of road work to link me up to work.
Either way, I get a little bit of countryside which I cherish.

Get out of bed, put on dressing-gown, stumble 15 feet along hallway, sit at desk.
Traffic very light.

I'd never start work if I didn't have a clear transition and place to be...
Much as I'd love to be able to work from home, i'm neither motivated nor focussed enough to bother!

I don't think I could work from home permanently. Far too lazy. But if it's a rarish treat I find I end up getting a lot done because I'm 100% focussed on work and don't let myself get distracted by other...oh

Oooh yes. Dusting. Must do that. This screen needs cleaning. So. Lunch, dusting, clean screen. Ah, but my biros need re-arranging. Before or after lunch? Perhaps I better make a spreadsheet to schedule it.

I don't work from home, but I live at work.
So my commute is down one staircase, or if I'm going to the *other* office, about 50 metres through a nice old garden. Less than that if I cut across the grass.
It took me 15 minutes this morning, because I met the cat and had to go feed him.
