What are some of your favourite words & why? These are some of mine:

Bilious - a reply to "how are you feeling?" was "Bilious dahling, bilious."

Scunnered - fed up, as in 'Ah'm fair scunnered'.

Elbow - just love the shape of the word when written by hand.

Chortle - thank you C.S. Lewis.

Jamesons - mine's a doublesmiley - cheerssmiley - drool

Crapulence - the result of too much Jamesons.

Loyalty - speaks for itself but works both ways.

Wolf - undistilled dog, a stunning creature.

Giggle - have been told I've a great one, even at my age!

Devilment - a wee bit is good for the soul.smiley - winkeye

uxorious - overly fond of one's wife

Not sure if there's a version for being too fond of your hubby - not sure what constitutes "overly fond" but I love the word!

Lanzababy - Guide Editor

One of my favourite words is

Zephyr

I like it for three reasons,
(i) its intrinsic meaning ( the breeze, not the Ford}
(ii) the way it is spelled, beginning with a 'z' the use of 'ph' instead of 'f' and 'yr' intead of 'ir'
(iii) it sounds like a whisper, which is itself the sound of a small breeze

Zephyr smiley - zensmiley - cool
