In Lancashire, humidity is always 75 - 85 %, so when it is warm, it is damp also, all summer long.

Even in your 'wet' season, it cannot get that humid???

It's hard to explain that sort of humidity, it was like that here in the 'winter' when it rained torrentially and then the sun came out. It's like being in a hothouse, (if you've ever walked round one of those big victorian ones) It is unpleasant, but it explains why you can grow rice in Japan.
I was house sitting over the New Year for a friend and had to put all the air cons onto the drying facility, plus a mobile one which I was emptying three times a day - so the clothes didn't all spoil.

Luckily that sort of weather is very unusual here, but it has been very hot recently, over 36 most days from 10am.

STRANGELY STRANGE ( A brain on a spring )

Oh God yes, I stayed in Kula Lumpur(sp?) for a while and it rain heavily in tropical rain fashion around 3pm daily. It was briefly cooler but after when sun came out it was walk a few yards and be soaked from high humidity again, mind you the plants in lush rainforest there (malaysia) were often 10 feet across as so much rain and warmth to help growth!
it might reach 24c today which is hotter than I thought. There is a free classical music event in church up road this luchtime so might pop along as enjoyed the last one a lot.
Being free helps as I just saw another advertised on a poster at £10 a ticket in a church!

Not-so-bald-eagle

The worst humidity I ever experienced was in Hong Kong, it equalled the record if i remember rightly. I felt as if I was breathing strangely. And everytime I went outside (out of the air-conditioning) it seemed worse.

Apart from that, happy days
