...everytime you spend any time apart you think about that person constantly, they consume your waking thoughts every moment and they are in every dream. The further you spend apart the worse it gets until the feeling of loneliness and wanting to be with them borders on the obsessive. And the worse thing about it is that you know its obsessive up to the point where your sitting on your bed stroking your mobile phone with anxiety just because they haven't made any attempt to contact you recently. You become trapped in a liminal zone between crossing your own personal boundaries and a paranoid fantasy, you fear investigating either will cause psychological distress so you hide away from the world.

though the happiness/essential thing should be a little less than conscious, it should just happen, not be an expectation, either way...

and I'm scared about the obsessive-compulsive and dependent sound of the last post before mine

When I was agonizing about whether I should get engaged or not back in the dark ages when getting engaged was very important to a girl (thank dog things have changed) I kept asking people "How do you know if you love someone"? I got many answers such as "are you willing to wash his dirty pants"? "You know you love someone when you recognise them from a long distance" "You know you love someone when you find yourself walking in front of a bus"

The truth is and I am now divorced from that man knowing that I did not love him; is that when you love someone you never have to ask. I married because I badly wanted to get away from home. This man did not love me and when he hit me he said it was because he loved me so much he was jelouse. Love is trusting someone enough to be their best friend to find out they have flaws and weaknesses and to still want to be with them warts and all.

Love is not about flowers, romance not even about sex its about being there for each other no matter what.

Love does mean different things to different people. I'm going to be a very lazy researcher now and not post a link to one of the threads in ask.

For me, love means I'm playing really badly at tennis

love means cold turkey after breakup and being unnecessarily interested in another human being who after all asks his mum to cook for him.

when you don't do that anymore. *haughty look*

it's actually about sex before anything else so it means you'll be on fire because of a single kiss.

and that you'll miss it.

being sadly bested by hormones.
