I am sure those who be in power are watching and of course the links must be removed as soon as the run is over. Your views are noted TDT and will look to it in the future. I have learnt a lot from you guys & gals and the next fun run will be a little different. Have you noticed that not all the reviewers have put a rating. Maybe they would prefer to this anonymously, I thought it would be the most used forum. How wrong could I be.
Hey Looney there will be no party for those who have not put their links on the page properly. You copied the first link in the forum, it should have been the second one. Could you put this right. Go back to the forum named links page one and put the right link on.
BTW mines a whiskyMac.
Thanks SH last but not least, unless Looney knows better.

Perhaps scrap the mark out of ten - it's too arbitrary. People get a far better idea from the reviews than from a rating. Just my 2p.

It was Jim Lynns idea originally, That is why I included it in the run. The objective was if a person didn't feel they could review a page they could give it a rating. When the rating was high enough it would be moved up the list for editors to read and reject etc.
It still could be of use, but as I said earlier, anonymous voting may encourage researchers to use it.

I think explaining the importance of the rating might help as well!

Vegiman my page is now compliant. I gave it a good scolding and sent it to bed without its customery late night drink. I don't think it will give you any more trouble.
A question. People have posted some interesting comments about my article. Do I edit, update, the page now or should I wait for the fun run to conclude?

Hi Looney. This was outlined Earlier in this forum whilst you were asleep. I hear you sleep at funny times to the rest of us.
Basically do what you want to get the best out of the run. If you update your page: say so in the Rating forum on your page. this way all future ratings will show the rating of your new work.

My eyes are fine, They get dilated now and again.
Seriously, We are all dimbo/dumbo at times. I don't consider myself as a teacher. Just a friend. I hope you see it that way as well.

Hi guys & gals
This fun run is drawing to a close, I think Next Saturday 10pm GMT seems as good a time as any. I hope you got what you wanted directly or indirectly from the run. I will leave it a week or so before starting the next run. I am thinking of cutting the forums from three to one. This way your home page will not fill up with reviews. I hope to run two at the same time. The first is for new volunteers and the second for previous volunteers who want another go.
I am cutting each run to four volunteers. Some started the run and fizzled out half way through. I thought this may happen and is the main reason for reducing the number.
Other Ideas including a note pad on the page so reviewers can read & write at the same time before posting. I know Ginger has seen this on my page OH GNATS which I may now get time to re-write. I am sure this run will still attract attention, so any re-writes can still be reviewed and help you toward an accepted page.

Closing the first Fun Run
vegiman:-) Posted Aug 22, 1999
I noticed from my home page that postings are still going on. I have not done a final run through myself. This I aim to rectify.
I thank you all for taking part and as I said before, I hope you got what you were looking for, I certainly did. Thank you again.
I am still working on the overview and when it is complete you will all be invited to comment.
A special thanks to Ginger, once again, You did a great job while my comp was sick.
The next fun run will be different, some of which I have already outlined.
If like me you haven't yet done your last re-write and submitted the final work - now is the time and good luck.
Once again congrats to Dancing Tree, although I feel the article was doomed to succeed before being entered. I hope you found what you were looking for and are welcome to all future runs.
I declare this run closed
Cor don't that sound official.
