I think you're right Cyzaki, but I didn't read it that way and I looked at it for a long time before deciding I didn't understand exactly what it meant. So it probably needs rewording to make it clearer.

Actually I think it's slightly confusing too. The sentence is about two different things and the leap isn't made particularly easily.
This entry has massively improved since I first read it and is now looking much more guide-like. Nice work.

Thanks all, and yes, it does mean that the Maiden's Tower adorns what little tourist tat Baku has to offer - not sure how I could make it clearer, to be honest.

Really? ZSF and I are obviously just really dim then...
How about adding two little words:
"The Maiden's Tower is Baku's most famous tourist attraction and its image adorns what little tourist tat there is to be found in Azerbaijan."

... really dim? ... I wouldn't have said so
Good suggestion as to 'its image' and I can see where you are coming from - I suppose some things are so obvious to the author that they are blinding!
Consider it done, sir

Gnomon - time to move on Posted Oct 31, 2003
One important point: isn't Baku located on the Easternmost tip of the country, rather than the Westernmost as you say?
On a point of style, I think you should collect your many small paragraphs into a few bigger ones. You have virtually every sentence as a separate paragraph. Some grouping would make it a bit more readable.

Gnomon - how on earth did I miss that?
I've now changed it to EASTERN and have changed the style ofmy paragraphs ... how's that?
Cheers!

I'm editing this entry at A1941590, can anyone who is still subscribed here let me know if there are any unresolved issues from PR that need sorting?
Thanks!

I don't know which is correct, Shirvan-Shas or Shirvan-Shahs; but the entry has both spellings. Perhaps both of them are correct, or you have overlooked it.

For future reference, can you put all your GuideML tags in CAPS please? And also lay out the entry a bit better, say with spaces between paragraphs etc? Because I have a huge job ahead of me to change all the tags to CAPS, and editing isn't made any easier when the text is all in one big block.
Thanks
P.S. Sorry I've not done any work on this yet, been busy over Xmas and haven't had any time. I'll get going on it soon though!

As an ex-Sub, I sympathise, Cyzaki! Tags in lower case used to be the bane of my life... sometimes it's just quicker to paste the text in from fresh, and use the Brunel buttons to redo the GuideML from scratch

Hi Cyzaki,
I think I did set it out with gaps between paragraphs and stuff, but when you save it it just becomes one long block of text.
I will, however, do my tags in CAPS from now on
