Just another quick point.
I think the author of the book may have got such lines and idea's from the film version of events. Although it is quite possible that he may of said that, i doubt it very much.

I know this is difficult to avoid when writing about history, especially famous history, but a lot of this article appears similar to one on the web at this site:

Time spent constructively is never time wasted. Looking forward to your Rourke's Drift piece, and to how many Michael Caine quotes you can fit in...

Wait!!! I didn't mean you had wasted our time! I think this is a great topic, and one that should specifically be in the guide. You just need to know that the other work is out there, and how that affects your own.

You're doing a good job! Maybe you could find another account of the battle, and add information from that. I didn't get home last night, so I don't have my reference, but I'd be glad to give you info from that. and references from that.

I will re-do the article as you are write certain things need to be in guide, im surprised there hasn't been one on Rouke's drift.
Forward any information you have to me by posting a reply on the original in my PS (if that makes sense).
Thanks for your time and patience.

well, I enjoy reading ancient history, and this was fun. Why don't you start by re-writing this entry? Then we'll all still be linked to it.

OK, then how about creating a new, blank entry entitled "battle of thermopylae". Then we can start a conversation, and when you want people to look it over, you just post to the conversation. That'll bring it up on screens.

I believe your entry here is fine. A historical piece IS history and the known facts are the known facts. You have many things the referenced article doesn't and it might give you a few ideas to add in your own words or even as the base for further research. Don't give up so easily.

I liked the article, it must have just stuck in my head. I will be writing a totally new article. I will use this guide entry as the basis, but im not going to enter it till its complete.
