Thank you for correcting my writing English.
I've not been any confident on neither my writing English nor spoken English. I don't know how much worse my English has become.
The thing I believe is that if I keep studying English, no, try to read, write and listen to English(BBC Radio through the internet) every single day, I think my Enligsh will keep the same level (especially writing), but it's very hard to keep my spoken English as I was used to be with my British/American friends without chatting, speaking directly with them or British people(people whose first language is Engish)

But I think if I keep come here from time to time and write English, I'm sure that I'll find lots more about everyday English in use smiley - laugh

Do you think my Engish(writing) is very bad? smiley - blue

"HOUR" in use

Try to keep this threa, too smiley - laugh

I read the headlines of today's Guardian.
One of them is said;
"Niger famine crisis 'at 11th hour'"
I can understand the outline of the article, but I don't understand the meaning of "at 11th hour"
Dose it mean they'll be dying "in" 11 hours?????
No, I don't think so.
The whole article is as below:

Very sad story smiley - sadface

"HOUR" in use

Post 276

Kat - From H2G2

Okay "11th hour" means at the most important and crucial time.
So if, for example, evidence on a crime case was rushed in, in "the 11th hour", it would mean that just at the important time when they really needed it, the evidence was brought in.

At least I *think* that's what it means smiley - erm

"HOUR" in use

Post 278

U218534

I thought "at the eleventh hour" meant the same as "at the last minute"?

"HOUR" in use

Post 279

Kat - From H2G2

Yup, like I said, at the most crucial moment before something is decided smiley - tongueout

"HOUR" in use

Post 280

U218534

What if the most crucial time was earlier, when the evidence was *really* needed... and although it didn't turn up, they got it just before the file was closed? That would still be the 11th hour smiley - nahnah
