Cat is very annoying, especially in RL. Isn't she, manson_rocks?

The Language Thing Posted May 14, 2004
I had an idea at 8.45pm this evening, and after thinking about it for a few minutes, decided that it would be really cool, and "the way forward".
In the next few months, the Language Thing will be changing. Big time. And - hopefully - for the better. To start with, I want to clear out the user list, as most people listed aren't here any more. I'll work through the list, leaving messages on people's Personal Spaces. Let me know if you want to remain listed, and also if you want to change any of your languages. If you don't reply , you'll be taken off the list.
After that, the changes will begin to roll out. I don't want to give too much away, but I will give the following hints.
. Departments. Heads of Departments. Teaching and learning.
Sorry to those of you who like it as it is, but I've always wanted to completely renovate something, and I feel the Language Thing needs it
All the best, and happy speaking!

Actually, I was thinking the other day (well, not really... ) that it might be more useful if the member list was organised by language instead of by user. So instead of having a user name, and which languages that user is WLTL, P, and T, you could have a language, and who were WLTL, P, and T it.
I didn't bring it up at the time, because it would require some work going through the listings, but if you're renovating anyway...
Anyways, just a thought, and as I don't get to many of those, I wanted to share it. Keep up the good etc.
cheers
~Bistro

Hmmm, yeah, that does sound like a good idea.

Like the idea of putting them in Language sections
Also can we have a note on the page that since moderation is reactive we need to be careful about what is written and if you see any bad language or things which break the rules written in another language then it needs to be yikesed, prefferably with a note to the moderator as to what needs to be starred so the whole post doesn't get hidden if not necessary.

Danielle thinks Joe's bearing in mind rocks. She also thinks her left ear is too itchy right now for her liking....

Dani... you're not in a third person thread... that sort of insanity hasn't reached us at the Language Thing yet
