Master B is currently without an internet connection but would be interested in a meet in Derby.
He's also volunteered to organise a quiz if anyone wants one.

A quiz sounds like a fine idea.
It would be worth knowing how many under-18's we have turning up. If the answer is zero, then obviously options change.

Well, that relieves us of the burden of having to be imaginative.

You mean we can just sit in the boozer all day?
I can think of a few suitable easy-to-find ones in Derby- The Brunswick, perhaps?

Splendid choice. Me and my missus used to have many a lost weekend there.

The planning will need to get under way seriously.
I suggest you drop me an email at [email protected]: we can take it from there.

Will do so this evening-
It's also very easy to find, especially from the train station. Once we have an idea of numbers, we can consider whether to just meet in one of the place's many rooms, or investigate hiring the upstairs room.

So how many does it look like are coming?

Felonious Monk - h2g2s very own Bogeyman Posted Oct 4, 2003
I haven't updated the main page with all the numbers yet. So don't.

Felonious Monk - h2g2s very own Bogeyman Posted Oct 4, 2003
Right: I've updated the main page with who's going and where we'll be boozing.
Now, are we going to to anything a little less dissolute in the day?
Any ideas?

Well, I can do an off teh cuff tour of Derby's historical bits, including the better museums, or if it's pissing it down or freezing (*very* likely) we can do Derby's historical pubs. There's not a lot else to do... (LazerQuest is far too energetic)

You'd be lucky to get me in LaserQuest: my left eye has decided today to tear up its treaty of cooperation with my right, which measn I now see two of everything. I got for a blood test tomorrow because the doctor thinks I might be diabetic. ho hum.

Like I said *far* too energetic. I hope you don't get unpleasant news from the quacks- that sort of thing can seriously get in the way of the drinking You haven't had a blow to the side of the head recently, have you? I banged my head and had literal double version for a week once.

Well, my left and right eyes are now on better terms today, which makes me think that 'it's just one of those things'. I haven't had a blow to the head recently, thankfully. I suspect my doctore is just playing safe: he said it was a long shot anyhow, and I have none of the other symptoms of diabetes. Better to be safe than to be sorry, though.
