Aren't they Jedi who chose more specific training/jobs in an area they're good at? (They heal, run/fix technology, and pilot Jedi ships instead of just general missions?)

I kinda figured it would be like army medics. While they can be exellent doctors they are always soldiers first. That kind of thing. Let me know if I'm wrong

It's being a doctor basically. Just not as action heavy with the saber etc.

Ahhh, I've just been reading the Dramatis personae section and I think I have inadvertantly ripped off a bit of Annat's background. (the part about the master being killed on Coruscant). I am really really sorry about that and if I'd thought to read the thing first I never would have done it. I am very sorry
