WEEK EIGHTEEN

Post 22

GreyDesk

Seven games down and creachy and Master B are in the lead with 12 points. Number Six looks like consolidating his second position, and there are some pretty powerful performances coming up from mid field.

See you all here this time tomorrow with the final results (PC problems willing smiley - erm)

Phew! What a finish that was smiley - bigeyes

Loads of points got won, particularly from the last five games in the list. There were some big movements up and down the table - Kiltedjedi, where were you? You've just been stiffed this week smiley - yikes. Plus there was a surprise joint winner for this week - step forward Master B smiley - wow You know you can play this game if you put your mind to it smiley - smiley

But as ever, there can be but one winner (thank god really otherwise I'd be dishing out mouse-mats left right and centre smiley - erm) and this season that winner is Ormondroyd smiley - bubbly

After a slow start the man has ground out the results week after week to overtake the early season favourite, Number Six -

never mind sir, here have a virtual black-and-white striped shirt. Ormy's performance means that he has now won four of the eight fantasy football competitions we've held here on h2g2, which I think you'll agree is a fantastic achievement. Well done sir smiley - cheers

So that's just about it for now. I hope to see you all in the New Year when we kick off season Nine. Have a Happy Christmas and remember to have fun smiley - hugsmiley - xmaspud

Thank you, GreyDesk, for another exciting season. I really am surprised to have ended up winning fairly comfortably. At one stage this season, when I was way behind in fourth place, my smiley - mod was just to try to maintain my record of always finishing in the top three. I didn't think I had a chance of winning a stylish new home for my smiley - mouse!

Happy Christmas everyone, and here's to Season IX! smiley - xmastreesmiley - cheers

It arrived this morning, and very nice it looks too. I'll take good care of it. After all, it has to last until next May, when I win another one. smiley - winkeye

So smiley - ta very much, GreyDesk. I couldn't help noticing the very apt amount of postage you spent to send me my item of hootoo memorabilia: 42p! smiley - dontpanicsmiley - ok

You only got it yesterday? I'm sure that I posted it the previous Monday, so that's a week in the postal system with a first class stamp on board.

This does not auger well for my Christmas cards which were posted last Friday smiley - erm
