A Conversation for Daily Log - John Ridgway Save the Albatross Voyage 2003-4
Weather Support and Land-Based Comms.

I am a (former) meteorologist who has been providing weather support by sending email w/attachments to Nick Grainger onboard English Rose VI. Per Nick's request, I have been sending him weather-forecast charts on a daily basis. I have not heard from him for a few days and have noticed no recent entries in Ridgway's daily log. If they are having communications problems, I don't want to jam their system with too many transmissions.
Can anyone give me contact information for land-based support so that I may determine their status?
Hope all is well aboard English Rose VI.

I'm back in touch with Nick. They have rounded Cape Horn and are headed for the Falkland Islands. I am now getting assistance with weather support from a NASA oceanographer, Gene Feldman.

"We are more or less used to see the log refreshed at irregular intervals. Contact 'Richard' < U76 >, he is one of the organisers in this venture. "

"How is the weather down there, must be warm, we are freezing our days in the north."

"Or you contact Nick < U211163 > as they are on land in Port Stanley."
