OK - the intersting bit now. The league has thus far made something of a profit on players and has decided to release some of it back to you hard-working managers. This will be in the form of a knockout cup competition. For each week's results (after this Sunday's update), your team's points will count not only towards the League, but towards your cup draw. The winner of the cup takes home a cool £5m.

The cup draw has been made at random, although the top two in the elague (UH and Steve) have been exempted from entry into the qualifying rounds. The initial draw is:

Qualfiiers will be played this week (starting Monday) and the week after will see the start of the first round proper.

The second round, in good FA Cup style, will also be drawn at random.

While you're all digesting that piece of information, I can inform you of two new transfer bids, namely for Teddy Sheringham and Marcel Desailly.

Don't forget that bidding is still open for Philip Neville, Lamine Sakho and Jerzy Dudek, and will remain so until Monday.

Of course, one thing that I had forgotten is that there are no Premiership matches this week, so the cup will in fact start the week after.
