The information is essential for the everyday fencer, good luck!

Perhaps some introduction stating that this information is essential to the everyday fencer might be in order.
I take it that this is about sword fighting and not about enclosures for agriculture?

Perhaps it's just me, but I haven't the faintest idea what this entry is about. Perhaps it would be an idea to do an introductory paragraph to explain what it's about?

Perhaps with links over to the article at A293258 (Fencing) and A940196 (The Flick and Modern Foil Fencing), so that the reader can learn a bit more about fencing. The second article has quite a good introduction to the electronic scoring system (and the first too).

Changes made...i hope. I had done several introductory paragraphs, however, i misplaced the "" and they never showed up.

GuideML tip (feel free to ignore, GuideML is *not* required):
For your lists (bulleted and numbered) have a look at the (unordered aka bulleted) and (ordered aka numbered) lists: <./>GuideML-UL</.> <./>GuideML-OL</.>.

This is much improved with the introduction!
I used to fence in my time, however, we didn't have electronic aids, so I can't make any comment about the rest of the content.

I took spelugx's advice and used the unordered and ordered lists, it looks much neater now. Thanks

Ausnahmsweise, wie üblich (Consistently inconsistent) Posted Jun 30, 2003
Hi Professor,
I was going to make the same comments - about an intro. for the totally uninitiated. I see you done that very nicely.
What's the barrel?
Is a pair of pliers really suitable here?
"Apply the locking pliers to the two flat surfaces of the barrel and proceed to unscrew counter-clockwise..."
Or would a standard open ended spanner? Might be better so you don't risk slipping and rounding the flats.
Awu.

The Professor Posted Jun 30, 2003
it would have to be a fairly small spanner, and i'm guessing more people have locking pliers than a spanner of that size.
The barrel is made to be bashed around a bit, so it should do fairly well.
I'll add a bit explaining the barrel though.

I have also now added links to other articles...makes it look better I guess

I think the word 'tang' needs a footnote, not just a link to another entry.
Otherwise this entry has come on a treat!

The Professor Posted Jul 2, 2003
Yes, I removed the link, as there was little info there anyway, and replaced it with the footnote. Thanks for the suggestion.

Noted some terrible sentances and bad punctuation (or lack there of) and fixed them with due haste.

Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've therefore moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.
If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.
Thanks for contributing to the Edited Guide!
