So how does it work then? I tried to read 'What do the Gem Polishers do?' but it got a bit confusing, especially with all the colours. Do I have to vote to get entries, or do I just get allocated some once they're voted 'yes'?

And I'm willing to try being the archivist for a while too smiley - smiley

Don't read the one with the colors. It's a bit outdated. Read the entries linked at the top of this page smiley - ok

You are allocated about 1 entry/month (which might change to more) by the editors, and you polish it. By polishing it, you just drop by the author's space, and speak with them, clearing any changes with them. Deidzoeb uses an effective method of coloring the changes he's made red, which is easy. But you could just tell them in the thread

Once you're done, just email us and we'll take it from there

Okay, send an email to UnderGuideEditors at Hotmail dot com

So that I get your address. Then I'll email you each back a test entry, which you should polish (Using the What Do the Polishers Do? page) and then write up something for to post to the author's U space, outlining the changes you'd like to make.

If you need any help polishing, I'll be more than happy to work with you smiley - ok When the editors accept your application, I'll send an invite to your email addresses, so you can get onto the UG Yahoo Group

Sound good? smiley - smiley

I have a forwarding address, which means that my outgoing email comes from a different address to the incoming inbox...

Since I'm not at home now, I'll send you an email from my Webmail account, with the forwarding address in the message smiley - ok

So what do I do now? I'm still not really sure how the system works, there's so many pages talking about what Miners/Polishers do, it's all so confusing...

Introduce yourself. smiley - smiley You haven't been allocated an entry this round, so you can relax for a while

Feel free to comment on things in the UG Forum - not just polisher things
