Hi Wooootton.
I think that this makes the beginnings of a very promising entry, but as it stands, it is incomplete.
The title promises an entry on 'The Beano', but what we have here is a tantilising short entry giving a brief history of the comic.
You promise to write further on the characters - a development which would be very welcome in my view.
If, however, you wish to use these future writings to further develop this entry, then it is not ready for Peer Review yet, as this forum is for entries the author considers complete. I would suggest taking the entry to the writers workshop forum to pursue this.
If, on the other hand, you want to write up seperate entries on 'The Beano', then I suggest changing the title of this one to "A Brief History of The Beano". In this case, there are still areas for improvement, in my view. But I await your decision before going further into those.

I agree with what was said previously about this needing more to it. What about Dennis the Menace, never mind the Bash Street Kids (sorry Gosho)
Also as Part of the History, the Beano was published by DC Thomson of Dundee as well, who also published the Dandy, Oor Wullie and The Broons (as well as many others I can't think of at the moment).
Also perhaps the following link may help as well

Are you planning to do anything else with this or should it be taken out of peer review?
It certainly needs a lot more work, even if it is only a brief history it is far too short!

Wooootton hasn't posted since June 17th so this one could be headed for the Flea Market soon, and I'll bet there are plenty of Researchers who'll be wanting ti pick it up

It has to be taken from the Flea Market - until it gets removed from PR it's still technically the property of the original author. It should only get sent to the FM when it's obvious that the author has abandoned it either by stating as much, by intentionally unsubscribing from the Peer Review thread, or by being AWOL from h2g2.

No, we are running a sweepstake as to how long it will take the italics to move the 20 or so entries that have been recommended for such an event.
I've drawn 9th November

Well, some of the more recent ones have been moved, so maybe they're working backwards. I'll go for 20th September.
