The outer asteroid field is reletively safe in comparrison to the thick death trap of the inner asteroid field. There are lightly armed sensor outposts and early warning systems scattered throughout the field.

*A squadron of fighters drop out of hyperspace and detect technological signatures within the nearby asteroid field. They swing around and pass through the outermost reaches of the field to check up on the signatures*

~Early Warning System Command Room~

*The "incoming threat" indicatior starts blinking angrily as warning klaxons sound.*

[Early Warning System Commander] What the heck is going on?

[Early Warning System Ensign] No idea sir, should we blow up what ever is invading our asteroid field?

[Early Waring System Commander] Please do

~Asteroid Field near the Early Warning System Command Station, on a big asteroid~

*The stations 8 quad laser cannons light up the eternal night of space as the deadly energy blasts lance out at the skip squadron*

*drops out of lightspeed just behind the Skips, launches all fighters and opens fire on the Skips, destroying all of them in a matter of minutes*

*Jump point opens and WS9 comes out firing all guns at the Vong*

Ralph, would you like it if I blew up your ship without a chance to defend yourself? I doubt it. So don't do it to others

*The skips scatter at the site of one of their number being vaped by the quad laser. Another blunders into the WS9's fire and another gets vaped by the ISD. The rest scatter in the asteroid field, frantically manuvering to get out of the fire of their enemies. Eventually they regroup and jump into hyperspace.*

*The relief that any crew may have felt soon turns to a "why now?" feeling as 10 heavy cruisers jump out of hyperspace and imediatly open fire on the White Star and the ISD*

*Jumps infront of Ralphs ship and has the Dovin Basel's absorb the Vongs fire*

*Two shield ships drop out of hyper space behind the enimy battle group*

*The ships project shielding on eachother and drive through the group towards the allied vessels.*

*The heavy cruisers that I'm sure I brought in at one point or another open fire on the Shield Ship's vulnerable engines.*

I didn't blow up your ship, I blew up the skips. You blow up my walkers and fighters and bombers all the time!

*The cruisers wheel around and face Ralph's ship, they all open fire*

Hey, HDS! I'm on YOUR side, remember!

*he first shield ship breaks through the battle group mostly unharmed and takes cover in the asteroid field. The second takes heavy enimy fire and its engines cut out, leaving it drifting.*

*waits for the Vong to show up*

*The Yuuzhan Vong cruisers continue pounding the second shield ship, now aiming mainly at the generator and the supports keeping the umbral section of the ship from deforming. Meanwhile, a 6 full wings of Yuuzhan Vong Skips launch out of their respective ships and swarm Ralph's ship*

*TIEs swarm out of the ship to dogfight the skips as the Thunderfist opens fire on the cruisers*

*the Outlaw Star, with several upgrades, jumps out of the sub-ether right behind the biggest group of skips and fires it's new flak cannon into their midst.*

I am indeed Hussassin, HDS coughed up the readies first, although Commander Shai do indulge in indoor athletics sometimes but it's purely personal

*fires a spread of naqadah limpet mines which attach themselves to the remaining skips and blow them up*

The first of the shield ships projects extra shielding onto the allied capital ships. The second, however ceases projection and begins to spin as it takes fire from an entire battle group.
