"lebanon was invaded and the west bank was and has been palestine from the get go"
I was thinking about countries that were occupied, though. I think hizbollah originate from Lebanon so that might explain why there have been Israeli incursions into Lebanon.
I agree, the West Bank pretty much is Palestine (as is Gaza), but it's not an independent state yet.

They don't have one. Israel has no right to expand and no foreign nation supports Zionism, including the United States.
The settlements are already (begrudgingly) being removed. Slowly. But the world has changed since the days of the cold war and either the Jewish settlers will have to live as a minority in an Arab nation or move back to Israel. Allowing continued Israeli expanision would upset the delicate balance of peace in the Middle East and thus disrupt the oil trade. And I think we all know how important that is to the West.

that's just it the U.S couldn't give a monkeys about the extermination of palestinians by israelis as long as they get the oil

I presume that somebody here is being pre-moderated. I think that happens sometimes.

This slipping from the subject of the debate. Perhaps a new debate concerning Israel should be set up?

Oh, right. I assume crazyhorse is trying to get us back on topic . I'd forgotten what this thread was about.
The invasion of Panama was justified because Noriega was a dictator who needed removed. The US used to support him, true, but then it was good that they changed their mind. Same with Saddam.
The coup in chile was almost certainly CIA-backed and, yes, completely unjustifiable as the Marxist Chilean government were democratically elected. The blame for that one you can probably lay at the feet of the Chilean military and Henry Kissinger.
I don't know much about the Guatemalan secret police, but I would probably not like them much so I'll give you that one for free.
Grenada was not only unjustified, it was a blundering mess of an invasion. They invaded an island of 8,000 odd people and still managed to lose men. And it turned out that the runway was civilian after all (although invading an island because it's runway might be used to launch attacks when equally-local Cuba was a perfect runway for Soviet bombers seems a bit pointless).

guatamala tried to nationalise the fruit plantations and the united fruit company backed by the U.S. put down the rebellion and installed a ruthless regime

So it's OK to remove the government of another country if they 'need' it? I imagine China doesn't like the government much in my own country of Britain. Is it acceptable for them to remove President Blair? He may 'need' it, but I suggest that such action would be incorrect and inappropriate.

panama was invaded because norriega knew all about bushes cocaine for arms dealing and because the canal treaty called for return of the canal zone in 1999

This is very much on-topic for this thread, I think. Er, enjoy! Well, you know what I mean.
