You bet. How annoying - I finally realise that being a working class tory bigot was a bad plan (no thanks mum & dad), make a stand and get kicked in the face.

I feel your pain, Dinnerlady , but when you consider the options, it was right to back the President - as He became - last time around, I think. Next time? President Kennedy for me until the Labour party embrace regime change. We told Tony we didn't agree with the war, and he ignored us. At the next election, I shall remember. Maybe others will too. Just so long as the T****s don't get in.

Hmm. I was at a politics conference the other day for lower sixth students; Theresa May and a bunch of other high ranking Tories were there (and Theresa's leopardskin shoes, natch), and they all seemed to think they had a VERY good chance of, not necessarily getting this election, but the next after it, and from then onwards to conquer the globe. Nice people, actually.

Very worrying.
The thing is, most people seem relatively OK in person unless you happen to catch them with a dead seal, cudgel in hand .
Don't let them sway you! Be strong......
So what's the best alternative, though, guys - clearly not the tories - dare I say it - Libdems????

No I can't see Charlie wearing leopard skin shoes. It would clash with his complexion.

As I said before: "President Kennedy for me until the Labour party embrace regime change." But I forget to mention they must also renounce Weapons of Mass Deception.

Hello, was wondering if I could get my foot in the door and join in here, seeing as debates on the rest of Hootoo seem to degenerate into personal bickering?
Erm, what would I be? Let me see:
Religion, atheist, very atheist, but hopefully not in a nasty way.
Philosophy, probably some sort of relativism. I guess I'm a nihilist without the negativity.
Politics, vaguely liberal left-scum I suppose, I'd prefer a society where everyone had the basics to get by than one where most people had comfort, but a few had poverty, but then I also mostly believe in free trade. Who knows, I keep changing my mind anyway.
If whoever does the putting people up thing can't make sense of any of that then just ignore those chunks.

I wonder if anyone's ever said "no" to something like that...
Well, I'm not going to stand in the way of a great tradition. Welcome and have a nice time!

They'd probably say no to a politician who was currently in power whose religion was power and philosophy was greed.

Mal Posted Feb 15, 2004
So one might almost shorten that sentence to just "They'd probably say no to a politican", and it would still say the same thing

The first thought that comes to mind is to consider legendary personalities. Would they accept Sir Francis Drake or perhaps Attila the Hun?

BouncyBitInTheMiddle Posted Feb 15, 2004
Uh Atilla the Hun:
Politics: Autocratic
Religion: Atheist
Philosophy: Hedonist
Did I get that right? I think that's probably quite a good description of me a few years ago actually...
