Titania (gone for lunch)

I've just downloaded the game so I'm just at level 1 - I've come across potions and stuff, but how can I find what they're good for?

Eggy - XP doesnt like final fantasy VII

4 ways to find out what something does. 1) Go to the alchemists (blue door or number 5) and buy a scroll of ID. Read the scroll of ID on it. 2) Use it, gets you XP for finding out what it does aswell. Only problem is this may kill you because you've just drunk poison or read a scroll of summon monster. 3) keep them all in your house until you learn the spell of ID. This may take a while (about 20 levels i think) and will use a lot of mana. Also only rangers and mages can do it. 4) Sell it. You may find you've sold a scroll of ID for 12 gold, but dont get too angry, save up Clear potions, Icky green Potions and Light Brown potions without IDing them. Then sell them. they're each worth 1 gold but you could get 15 for each of them smiley - smiley

Thanks!smiley - smiley

I found it out myself after playing for a while - I was hoping there would be something a little bit like in Baldur's Gate - that you can pay someone to identify an item

Any useful tips on how to get those creeps who steal my money before they disappear in a poof?

i find that normally being powerful enough to kill them with one hit works. for low levels avoid contact with them. if you can get magic Stinking Cloud works a treat on street urchins getting about 9 or 10 with one casting. if you dont have magic get a bow of some sort (slings are poop get a longbow or crossbow) and nail them to walls.

you can cheat if you really must, but it takes some of the fun away from it...... actually no it doesnt, just makes it easier.

randomly, did you know... unlocking a locked door gives you 1 XP, IDing a potion wand etc without the spell or scroll is worth 4 XP as is first use of a new spell or prayer.

The joys of the source code smiley - biggrin
