Talking Point: Games - Traditional Versus Virtual

22 Conversations

Real and virtual life

Twenty years ago, children passed their time by playing board games such as Sorry, Ludo, Monopoly and Scrabble. Now they are just as likely to be found playing Tomb Raider, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and The Getaway. So are they missing out? Are games more enjoyable when played in real-time, with real people in front of you? Or is it more fun playing with Lara?

This week we want you to tell us where you stand on computer games versus traditional board games.

  • Board or Console? Where do you stand in the great games debate?

  • Are traditional board games better for playing with a large group of friends?

  • Or do you hold Gran Turismo parties and crowd round the TV cheering each other on?

  • How long do you spend gaming during the week?

  • Are you a fan of network gaming? Is the Internet the answer to gamers' prayers?
