They could even keep the same actors...
That would mean a few sequels too... [can't be bad as that would provide jobs...]
Would be nice to have a proper story around how it all started...

I don't suppose you've heard that Bellasaurio is doing a new Quantum Leap series at some point, have you?

Sci-Fi Channel here in the States asked for a new series, so he started working on it. New cast and character so I don't really know how it's going to work out. I haven't heard any more about it since late last year, so I have no idea how far along they are or if it's been dropped.

hopefully something will come out of that and one day a new series will be done... but a Quantum Leap without Sam Beckett ?!.. then again it could be possible with a character wanting to carry on with his work etc...
i still would not mind a long feature prequel-like tho'... Sam must have sacrified a lot when he made the leap... and of course it can't have been a success straight away etc.. etc...
mmmmmm.... still would need to add the first leap in it i suppose... a bit of re-working to do there...
i should really read a bit more Cult-TV related magazines and try to keep up to date with what's in the pipeline... would be great to find out about this [hopefully happening] new series...
thanks for the info... i'm quite tempted to search the web about it next time i've got some PC access time...

Nobody could carry on his work, since in the final episode he reunited Al with his ex-wife, meaning that he wouldn't have built the Quantum Leap experiment in the first place so there was no ork to carry on. At least that is what I can remember from all those years ago. unless somebody comes back from the near future and leaps to rescue Sam from wherever he was stuck in eternity.
However if you made the film now a it would have to have a conspircy theory in it.
Hang on, got a better idea. Time Tunnel come and save him! Now thats a show worth bringing back

time tunnel... that brings back memories...
a conspiracy theory could be easily included... after all the politicians/aliens/military/etc might not want him to meddle with history [even on a small scale]...
not sure about Sam not building his Quantum Leap experiment tho'.. something else could influences events so that he actually does build it after all... err something around that anyway...
or maybe not...

I always just assumed it meant Al was still married and was still working in the Quantum Leap project. As for Sam, I thought he'd be leaping around like Stropo had been in that same episode. Just not in the same manner.
For the new series, maybe someone else just steps in to start the project back up. Who knows.

yep... who knows..
if they are very keen to make a new series they will find ways of linking both the old and new one together even if it's very loosely..
would be same for the movie, the Mission Impossible movie was a good example of this kind of trick...
the one that didn't work i thought was The Invaders movie unfortunately...

The whole point of Al getting staying was that me would have never gone though another 3 odd magiages and eventually worked on Quantum Leap with Sam. He would have settled down.
Perhaps somebody quantum leaps in to Al and gets him to rescue SAm from Limbo possibly ..
