rev. paperboy (god is an iron)

And speaking of Bewildering (sorry Heather)I've started a thread on a new system of municipal government I'd like to see tried
I welcome any and all comments at

sorry if the proposal is a bit long and hard to read, I've forgotten how to do formatting (subheads and bold type etc) but i will tart it up eventually to make it easier to read, hopefully with the suggestions of others incorporated.

Unforseen

I havn't seen the petroglyphs in years. Don't know what they've done with them. Maybe I'll sneak up there this coming summer.

I looked at when I posted here last (to ask to join) and the first year anniversary is not all that far away. My question- now that we're (almost) all here, what's next? I propose a picnic in the spirit of spring.

We could make it a pool party beside my Nuclear Pond.... HazMat suits optional.

I'm not sure when my site anniversary is, the one I meant was for posting last on this thread which was October. OK, I suppose it's not that near but I meant to point out that we've all visited this thread to say hello but haven't done much else.

I'll pass on the pond, btw. Does that mean you have a nuclear family?smiley - smiley

Maybe we should each sit down and write ten guide entries about Canadian things.

There. I'm done.

Ouch! That hurt.

I've only done three but then some others have a uniquely Canadanadanian perspective, does that count?

Oh, and I campaigned for the maple leaf smiley.

Oh, and when I said we haven't done much I meant on this particular thread. People show up, join, and I for one seldom hear from them again. Eats shoots and leaves, doncha know. ,,

I don't know about nuclear family, there are probably a lot of nuclear things in the Nuclear Pond.... Some days it is a really peculiar shade of green fairly glowing with phosphorescence. You can't see the bottom of the deep end (though it can't be more than 3 feet deep at the moment). I doubt anyone would go near enough to find out if there is anything but West Nile Virus-infested mosquitoes breeding in it.

As for the lack of postings.... Is it because we, as Canadians, are too self-effacing to write about us (as Canadians)? We spend a lot of time discussing international issues and wingeing about the US (not that I PERSONALLY have ever winged about the US .... smiley - rofl). Perhaps we figure writing about Canada is like preaching to the converted, since, with the exception of "TFO"* no one else has seemed particularily interested in what makes us Canadians tick.

It has been really lovely here, the last few days. The nights have been very, very clear and crisp and the stars really bright. Venus isnot as bright as it was the last few nights, but it may just be that it is high in the sky at the moment.

Even here in the city, the stars are very bright, so I can imagine how they would be in the country.

Hi I would like to sign up as an honerary member. My wife and I live in Harlow
Essex
England

About four years ago we splurgde out on a cruise from Boston up along the New England coast carrying on along the ST. Lawrance and spent 48hrs in Quebec. It was great, the scenery was spectacular the people we met on our travels could not have been friendlier or more helpfull.

And so comes the punch line. We are hopeing to visit the Canadian Rockies next year or maybe the year after (it all depends on the funds).
And as there is always some one when you get home that says did you visit this place and surely you saw such and such. So I am appealing for advice direct from source and or expierience for the not to be missed.

Looking forward to being here (and there). smiley - cheers
