Great article/entry... I love it. It reminds me why it was such a pleasure to study the Man's work at school.
One thing though, we call Chinon, Chinon... _not_ "Chinon on the Vienne"

I have attended to this business of Chinon being actually on the river - I don't know how it got there but I hauled it back onto land. If it moves again I will put a period after it to keep it in place. Chinon. There.
