the knife-poking bit is particularly freaky...

I found the whole film very chilling. It's just... odd, freaky, off-kilter etc. It out-weirds anything I've seen i think for sheer spine-tingling (God- how i love these compound adjectives!) weirdness.

we couldn't stop trying to work out what was going on. After going round it for a couple of viewings we listened to the director's commentary and realised that the first idea was closest!

It's all just really weird, someone has an overactive imagination?
(don't tell, want to listen to director for self)

I won't tell... but if I remember right (and I probably don't) it's all quite straightforward.

I'll settle for that - especially the Mad World at the end!
They couldn't release the soundtrack (the one that's not the original score - which I have) because they didn't have enough money when making the film

Well- having seen it for the second time last night I have to confess I'm even more confusedf about what is going on. Or to be more precsie, since I can see WHAT happenes I'm just more confused about how it happens. Still... great, great film.
10 hours 33 minutes.

Mmm, confusion.
It could easily be happening all the time, y'know.
