...for the second film. Tomorrow I'm going. As a reward for a whole day spent in the library. In theory, anyway.

Yes. Very exciting it was too. Althought most exciting part was the trailer for matrix.

IHMO X2 was a little too long, can't remember how long exactly, but it *felt* long if you know what I mean. Everything else about it was excellent, in an action movie kinda way, however.

They maintain that they show them when a film has them attached... normally the big films - but there weren't any on the front of X-Men 2, I know it was technically a preview but still!
I think the last time I saw a trailer there was when all the Star Warts ones were out last year.

Interesting- I used to have a part time job going to cinemas and checking that they showed the correct ads and trailers (you see its a part of the contract of showing films that trailers by the same studios are shown, sort of) and extra ones are paid for by the studios to be shown. So your cinema MAY be breaking their contract. BUt anyway- why would they do that? It's not as though people mind them- as catwoman said they can be the best part! And cinemas obviously make money from them as they encourage people to come back again.

yeah, I always like the trailers (except of course when I saw the Attack of the Clones one too many times) I like to catch a glimpse of what's coming up - and some trailers are really good.

It was a great job! Technically the cinema only had to let me watch the adverts and trailers, but mostly they didn't bother chucking me out and so I effectively got paid for watching films. In addition I got to turn up to the cinema and act all important and had the manager fawning over me.

Jammy!
hmmm, saw Phone Booth tonight - still no trailers
But the Orange "turn off your mobile" ad was fun. They've got rid of the Jaws one it seems, now we have Carrie Fisher pitching a film idea...

I think I may have seen it- perhaps. The "pitching a film idea" sounds familiar anyway. Was phone-booth any good?

I liked it.
Quite short - but it wouldn't work if it was strung out. Colin Farrell's very good, and not afraid to play an unsympathetic character (but I think he probably had fun getting to be *that* mean to everybody at the start)
The ending's a little odd - but it's hard to see which way they could have swung it to make it more satisfying.

Cool, the film looked interesting when I saw the trailer. I may wait for it to comeout on video though, or for it to be shown mega-cheaply by one of the colleges at my university.
One week, just one week, 'til I get to see Matrix 2. Wahey!

Swiv (decrepit postgrad) Posted May 14, 2003
kinda looking forward to that one!
Apparently the cinema now has the Matrix Reloaded trailer on X-Men 2... we shall see when I go again tonight (not that I'm trying to avoid revising honestly)

wahey! trailers!
League of Extraordinary Gentlemen - which looks pretty bog standard, but the concept is intriguing to me... might have to find the comics!
And Matrix, which looks pretty wild

Mmmmmmmm, Matrix. (6 days, 8 hours, 22 minutes)
Um, had a Donnie Darko moment there, sorry.

Swiv (decrepit postgrad) Posted May 15, 2003
Absolutely nothing wrong with having a Donnie Darko moment - it's the most fantastic film!
