I've still got to add all the links and brush it up a bit.
If you think your a petrol head you need to get to the Ring, it has to be one of my favourite places and I've only been around it once...but that'll change soon!

Sabine Schmitz : she may have done the thing in the Transit as well, but I remember her as Clarkson's guide when he was racing round the Nurburgring (repeatedly) in a diesel Jag (I think) and promptly beat his hard-worked for time on her first go round in the same car
Others may recall better than I

Yeah it was after the jag diesel thing she challanged him, he finely broke past 10minutes with a 9:58 and was very happy with that time. She just said, bah I could do that time in a van...so she tried to do it in the next series and was only 3 seconds slower than Clarkson was!

Nice entry
Slight problem with the last footnote...
"Where it is suppossed to be accurate to with a few feet."
should be
"Where it is _supposed_ to be accurate to _within_ a few feet."

Good entry. I have some comments, but don't have time for them now. (Just posting here to remind myself to come back).

>>One of these taxis used to be driven by Sabine Schmitz who famously raced a Ford Transit van around the track on the BBC Topgear programme almost faster than the presenter Jeremy Clarkson raced a Jaguar.
-->Top Gear 2 words
almost faster --> almost as fast

It is almost certainly, the most feared, the most demanding, the most awe inspiring and yet still the most fantastic motor racing circuit in the world. What has given The Ring this status is its sheer size, all 13 miles and 73 bends of it.
---> The Isle of Man TT Mountain circuit is more demanding, more spectuclar, bigger, has more curves and is surrounded by stone walls so its more feared !
The fiftes are --> 1950s
early '70s the --> 1970s
The first are the Ring Taxis this company runs two V10 BMW M5s which can be hire to take you out on a pasenger lap of the track. ---> Taxies. This
can be hired
out on a pasenger lap --->out as a passenger on a lap of
One of these taxis used to be driven by Sabine Schmitz ---> didn't the V10 M5 only come out last year, she's already got bored with it ?
famously in Gran Tourismo on the Playstation ---> doesn't need the famously.
Its only on Gran Tourismo 4 on the Playstation 2
I think its accurate to 25mm according to its makers !
It also appeared in Grand Prix legends on the PC and Project Gotham Racing 2

Cheers Jon, I'll make the changes you've noticed.
As for some of your points, it does specifically say that the Ring is the 'most fantastic motor racing circuit in the world' the TT I agree is the maddest course in the world but it wasn't designed and built specifically as a track.
In fact although you can drive it any time of year it is frowned upon to drive at race speeds along it being an ordinary public road. The Ring on the other hand was designed as a circuit yet anyone can have ago at race speeds.
The bit about Sabrine getting bored of the M5's made me laugh I'm not sure if Sabrine still does drive the Taxi's. She used to own the Ring Taxi company and be a regular driver, I'm not sure if she still does that as her day job as I've heard rumours that she is going to start presenting Top Gear. As its a rumour I will not mention that specifically I'll just try to re-word some of that text.

techincally, out of the villages, there is no speed limit on the roads of the Isle of Man, so some parts can be attempted at race speed, especially along the mountain.
The Mountain course still counts as a circuit though.
if you reword your entry to 'most fantastic purpose built motor racing circuit in the world'
