A great little tale about a historical dead end - I love 'em.

You're missing a word here - "Catholics were discriminated in job hiring" That should be 'discriminated against'.

Apologies for butting in here... does it really need more than the (admittedly brief) paragraph that it currently has:

"The St. Patrick Battalion was an artillary and infantry unit which fought with the Mexicans in the Mexican-American war. It was made up of Catholic deserters from the American army, mostly Irish Catholics."

Apart from the typo for artillary --> artillery that is!

This is good enough for me.
