Postive: You shouldn't need a new keyboard or new anything, its just a bug in the new software. I'm sure TeleWest have someone working on it right now.

The "ghost in the machine" is definitely a software glitch because its just as bad with remotes, it just repeats the last few keys. This adds an extra problem for miserly remoters (like me ) as you have to press the blue button to finish the message, but normally the blue button activates the advert at the top, so if it does the repeat-o-matic thing at the end of the message you end up losing all the text before being flung into the Open University or that annoyinq FoX Kids site that takes 15mins to load! And you can't even abort it! Haven't they heard of debugging??
These upgrades are bad for your health. Just keep calm, breathe deep and repeat after me, "Aym going doobee a Gooroo!"

Oh, and the "signout" thing worked fine the other day when my digibox decided to do it "by itself", is that sorted out now, or was that a one-off?

Maybe they were making sure you knew about the keyboard sale?

I don't think the problem was with signing out but signing in, then again who can tell?

That's a Jim Lynn special to let him play. It is not really much use to a digibox user because you can't store files anywhere. However, everyone else could write their own style sheet - which is the bit that sets the colours for pages and the picture for the banner at the top (which digibox users again can't see). Then setting that filename into the plain options with a suitable choice of smiley colour (white for pale or blue for dark pages) gives you a customised view of h2g2.

Read F38454?thread=262135 for the discussion about it arriving. It went horribly wrong for one person who messed with it though. They put in silly text and couldn't unset it.
