Depends if Zagreb wants to carry on with it, I suppose... if he doesn't, then Flea Market and hopefully someone else can take it on.

Although Zagreb is clearly still around, I'm beginning to think this thread might be best moved back to the entry until he has time to decide what he wants to do with this. What do other people think? Zagreb?

Yes, I still know about this thread.
I don't think there's vastly more I can add to it, to be honest. Has anyone any suggestions on fleshing it out or adding some other details?
Just don't expect a 1000-word effort,
Zag

This whole thread is full of suggested ways for fleshing out the entry, I'm not sure what more you're waiting for?

*Drops by to give Zagreb a nudge*
Definitely mention the fact that the insulting V sign should not be confused with the Churchill sign (which I think everyone has agreed on in this thread, including yourself!)
Also you may want to put the dates of the battle of Agincourt in and the names of the kings - rather than saying 'the French king' and 'the English King'. It wouldn't look out of place IMO because most of the entry is based on that battle and it's (possible) creation of the V sign.
You could even list some of the other most common theories of the origin of it. I think a few links have been given as to other theories.

Well, I read yesterday in a review that Aleister Crowley invented the V-salute for Churchill, as a symbolic response to the Nazi swastika. Despite his public persona, Crowley really was quite an influential man in his own way.

Is anything going to happen on this one? In the nearish future, perhaps?
If not, then perhaps Peer Review isn't the right place for this, not at the present, anyway.

I suggest moving this to the Entry. It could be overhauled from there and resubmitted for PR later.

I'd say give it one last chance. If Zagreb doesn't want to carry on with this, then it's off to the Flea Market with it

Consider it seconded (if Zagreb doesn't show up).

Hmmm... he's definitely still around the site, but just doesn't seem to be here in this thread any more. Just testing to see if he's still subscribed.....

He is still subscribed.
Still, I think we have a good consensus that this needs to be moved -- I will add it to my current email.

I was just wading through the depths of PR in my monthly picking run, and bumped in to this one...
Cheers GD...

It's a shame it can't be expanded. Since it is such a small topic could someone not put together some of the extra information as previously suggested, append it to the entry, add their name to the researcher list, submit a polite notification to Zagreb and then submit it to the EG? Just an idea.
In searching for picks, I have come across quite a number of entries that have been put on the 'most recent moves list' so it seems to me that the Italics - or whoever it is in charge of moving entries about - need more prodding to get the job done.

I think the staff have been a bit busy this week in meetings and the such like with the recent BBC job announcements so didnt get round to the moves.
They will be getting an updated list at the beginning of next week which will hopefully 'prod' them
