Frank Bruno's first interview is on ITV at 8pm tonight (local times may vary) on the Tonight with Trevor McDonald programme

I have just seen a clip of it and he was talking about not being ashamed and the stigma attached to mental ill health.

I hope he truely isn't ashamed of it... The folk at the Sun are the ones that should be ashamed...

Did anyone else watch it? I found it interesting... There were a few syptoms we had in common...

I saw something where he said he really didn't know he needed help and that it was difficult for him to accept that he did. It ended up on an up-note, and it may be that Bruno can rally round and help to lessen the stigma of mental illness. I think that 1:10 people suffer from it during their lifetime.

Anyways, I just wonder how it would have been handled had Bruno been schizophrenic rather than depressive. People in general are starting to understand depression ... but not schizophrenia. There's maybe not yet a stigma attached to it, but that may be because most people don't even know about it.

But i think that is a good point. The fear of personality disorders and schizophrenia is very high

I think there is huge stigma attached to mental health problems of all levels...
