You'll see soon enough, Krispy . I *might* allow Richenda and Barton to show you a photo or two (as if they'll give me a choice, knowing them, they've already sent them!), if they'll let me approve them first. You'll have to wait and see the chaine maile in person though, I didn't like that photo at all.
Richenda, I had heaps of fun playing at the playground with you girls. Will have to do it again soon! Though I might avoid the tunnel slides Thanks for the all-you-can-eat rib dinner, too... haven't put away *that* much food in I don't know how long!
Can't wait till next weekend to enjoy the Faire again! Will be happy to play the shill for the show, it gets funnier and funnier every time I hear it. I even enjoyed getting soaked in the deluge and playing in the mud! I really enjoyed getting garbed up and looking pretty-it's amazing what a tightly-laced bodice can do for one's figure- though you do know there's just that one special person I want to look knock-out-beautiful for.
Richenda, H'venlee and Barton all look smashing in garb as well. Barton is absolutely regal, and Richenda and H'venlee put the Queen to shame. I'm glad we found something gauzy and flowing for me, though, I'd have a heatstroke if I tried to pile on that many layers!
Thanks, Barton and Richenda, and H'venlee for five lovely days! And thanks to Liam for being a fine and gentlemanly escort yesterday. I'm so looking forward to the rest of the summer for the first time in time out of mind.
Have a lovely day, all!

Well *I* haven't sent any pictures...yet. I'll *try* and refrain from sending the chain maille pictures.
Can't wait to initiate a new faire virgin.
There is a trail of clothing from the door to the bed.
My hair is still in the braid from yesterday. I was too sleepy to wash it this morning...but my feet are clean
The garb is molding in a heap on the kitchen floor and if Barton doesn't oil the swords they will resemble the Tin Man when Dorothy found him. It poured on and off all day yesterday. When I took my garb off at the end of the day, it felt like I had just given birth to a pair of elephants...it had to have weighed 25 lbs more (per piece) then when I put it on...know I know how the astronauts feel when they go from a weightless environment back to earth.
The skies are grumbling again and it is pitch black outside. But other than the normal Monday faire season aches and pains, I am doing fine. The new meds are great.
I am on my fourth cup of coffee.
Today is my first day without the aid of anti-depressants. I am too tired to know how I feel.
H'venlee your garb looked wonderful. I have a great close up of you bodice to neck I was on telephoto not wide lens. I had planned to get all of you.
I have a few other pictures taken that way of other people.
OOps...time to head down for another cup of coffee.

Oh good lord... Richenda, could those photos be *any* worse?! Argh! This is why I ask to inspect them first!
I'm almost dreading work tomorrow... when I got in this morning I had 147 voice messages! Took me till nearly noon just to listen to all of them, then I was stuck on the switchboard all afternoon so I haven't even started returning any of those calls yet. I only disconnected one person all day, and since he cursed at me and got me all flustered, he quite possibly deserved it anyway.
I think I need a vacation to recuperate from my vacation! And perhaps I ought to get to bed soon, seeing as it's nearly one?

beauty
\Beau"ty\, n.; pl. Beauties . [OE. beaute, beute, OF. beaut['e], biaut['e], Pr. beltat, F. beaut['e], fr. an assumed LL. bellitas, from L. bellus pretty. See Beau.] 1. An assemblage or graces or properties pleasing to the eye, the ear, the intellect, the [ae]sthetic faculty, or the moral sense.
Beauty consists of a certain composition of color and figure, causing delight in the beholder. --Locke.
The production of beauty by a multiplicity of symmetrical parts uniting in a consistent whole. --Wordsworth.
The old definition of beauty, in the Roman school, was, ``multitude in unity;'' and there is no doubt that such is the principle of beauty. --Coleridge.
2. A particular grace, feature, ornament, or excellence; anything beautiful; as, the beauties of nature.
3. A beautiful person, esp. a beautiful woman named PC.

Oooo...I may need that one to send to a certain someone. (Of course...he does get to see it every weekend anyways...)
..except today I feel a bit . All I know is I have a big smile on my face that has not gone away for 3 days! And I feel like singing & dancing.
I feel a little guilty, feeling so good. But I do not want to be sad. I need to feel happy.

Glad you had a great time PC. You looked awesome. Definately turned a few heads.
Cannot wait to see you again this weekend. Let's keep our fingers crossed for a little bit less rain.

Thanks, H'venlee! I'm looking forward to seeing you this weekend, too. You looked ravishing yourself, you know! Rumor has it it's not supposed to be so balmy. Now I've said that, it's likely to be a scorcher...
Don't ever let yourself feel guilty for feeling good, we all need to be happy. And you *do* deserve it! Keep smiling, it looks fabulous on you!

*sneaks in through a side door, trying & failing to hide stupid grin*
Er, hello;
You can't imagine the relief I felt when I saw the title of this thread on here!
I've been avoiding the Survivors threads recently for the most part out of sheer, misplaced guilt. How stupid; that in itself says it all.
Recovery IS possible.
We are ALLOWED to be happy.
We DESERVE to be happy.
There ARE good people out there.
I've found one; there are others. I am lucky; I feel ecstatic, but still recognise that others may feel a range of emotions upon hearing this.
At least it is proof that it IS possible to not only survive, but experience real joy & be still, amazingly, able to return it.
There is indeed hope; we all need to carry on clinging to this fact; this is what makes us survivors!

In theory, the project is finished.

Hi everyone, I see that you dress up in medieval gear and prance around! Well thats how myself and Moonglum met! We dressed up in Viking gear and pranced around. We got thrown out of the society for being in love?! but we have some good memories and photos!!

Hi All!
Er...is this the place where I'm allowed to be happy by any chance?
Just now, my good friend Janis phoned up ('cos she's French & I was so worried I might blow it!) & confirmed that spim will come to see the people at the International Comics Festival at the beginning of September! So, we are keeping fingers, eyes, er..legs? whatever, crossed that this really is the start of a whole new venture.
It will mean lots of work for him between now & then, but work, which obviously is what he loves & does best.
We have the tiny problem of paying for the travel bit, but we WILL find a way around this.
Good to see so many of the rest of you happy too; let's hope for better days for all of us.
Great news about your book, Willem; that's always the trouble with writer/artist/actor/musician etc stuff isn't it; the "starving in a garret" scenario simply does NOT help the old creative juices; all that happens is a lot of energy gets diverted into scratching around for ! *someone tell me what that smiley is*
So, here's wishing you all ...in fact whatever nice things take your fancy!
Terri.

Last night, Barton brought PC flowers.
He brought some me, too.
They are sharing a vase
(well, actually it's our popporn jar...I don't get flowers often enough to know where the vase is)

Richenda Posted Jul 25, 2003
For our tenth wedding anniversary Barton gave me a set of opal and diamond earrings and necklace. In January, 2002, I broke my ankle and spent 3 months in the guest room (our room has a waterbed). My earrings were on the headboard of our bed. During those three months, I used a cleaning crew on several occasions. When I could finally get back into the bedroom, I found my earrings, along with Barton's mother's gold bracelet, another diamond ring Barton had given me and various other jewelry, missing. For all these months, I had blamed the cleaning crew for stealing them.
I can not begin to tell you how many times we took the bedroom apart looking for my missing jewelry.
On Tuesday, I went to my jewelry drawer to find something to loan to PC. It was a girl thing.
I have a wonderful jewerly collection...sometimes I even wear some of it.
(real problem is I have trouble deciding what to wear so usually it just sits there )
but I digress...
Rummaging through all my jewelry boxes I came across a box that contained all of my missing jewelry...that and nothing more. I have been in that drawer daily for all those months. There is no conceivable way for me not to have found that box.
Bashert!

Yesterday I moved 25 - 50 lbs boxes at work
Came home did a load of laundry
Mowed the lawn (front and BACK)
Got stung in several places by some very nasty insects
Did NOT wind up in the emergency room
Went shopping
AND my blood pressure was still 125/72 with a pulse rate of 79!
I KNEW that bout of tachycardia was stress related!
Thanks to H'venlee and A Kilted Rogue, I did not have to clean my kitchen! They did it for me!
One less thing on my to do list.
