I should like to join if I may. Some of my colleagues still find it strange that I will go to the shelf and pick up the dictionary rather than look something up on the Web. There is a cleanish space on our (slightly dusty) bookshelves where the dictionary gets slid on and off the shelf intermittently.
It's great to find others with the same opinion.

Who, my Uni colleagues? No they still find me strange.
The Cult of Dictionary Readers? Not heard back from them until you replied, so not sure whether I'd been admitted on the quiet.
Had a disagreement only this morning about definitions and validity: irreparable vs unrepairable.

No, not a forum for pedants, I'm sure. Apologies for the confusion, the disagreement was with my other half, regarding vehicle maintenance.
