Oh, if only Sam "Mayday" Malone could have conquered his alcoholism sooner and led the Sox to the Series. He could have used his "Slider of Death". If he had made it to the Series, then someone probably would have bought his #16 jersey in the PBS television auction. He never did get out from under Yaz's shadow.
