Abuse of Smileys - an Update

Here I sit, in the bar of a German **** hotel trying to get rid of the voucher for my complimentary welcoming cocktail. I order a Mojito and am confronted with a confused look. Mojito, I repeat. The bartender repeats the look. I give up and settle for a true Hitch Hiker's classic, a Gin and Tonic.1 Musing

start to realise that there is no real G'n'T smiley at h2g2. Well the
will have to do.
Anyway. I came here to ponder on the latest update on one of the weirder aspects of h2g2... smiley abuse, or as it is called correctly: alternative smiley tags. It is creative, fun and perfectly legal in most jurisdictions.
Admittetly, it's rather 
y, but that is due to the fact that, that smilies are abused where words are failed.
This is actually an update on the old Post
article, so please refer to that entry for the first collection of collective abuse. This entry here is only concerned with the latest
developments and ideas of how to convey more information with the latest additions to the evergrowing list of smiles (to a greater extend collected from the threads hanging off the original entry).
Syntax
It might be helpful to use a set of ( ) to indicate that a certain
