Which was always my point during exams. Sometimes, during my GCSEs when I seemed to have huge amounts of time left over at the end I used to write on the blank pages- asking how they could still be blank with "blank page" written on them, usually with some pseudo-philosophical ramblings as well (I was quite a pretentious 16 year old) or trying to write notes for other exams that I had the next day. so they had their uses.

I found it easier to read all my notes and textbooks looking for any formula that could be useful, go into the exam and scribble them all down on one of the supposed 'blank pages' before I forgot them again.

yes, me too. i did latin (and greek) gcse and so i use to scribble down tables of nouns and verbs etc at the start of the exam so that i could quickly refer to them if i needed to.

physics and chemistry were the main exams when i had bags of time left over at the end- so i used to "have fun" (this is going to sound VERY pretentious and smart-arseish. well it was i guess) by writing out maths to prove some of the equations of the special theory of relativity. sad i know, and of absolutley no use.

Well I didn't go quite as far as that but I invented my own questions and answered them to get extra marks. It worked so well that I passed all my tests with flying colours apart from the art exam but that was 10 hours long!

i never wrote my own questions during a proper exam, though i did for a physiology essay (i study medicine at cambridge (if you haven't checked out my home page)) have to make up my own question about the kidneys and regulation of water since the superviser claimed he was bored of reading 3 of the same essays every week. my title was "disucss the role of the kidney in maintaining homeostatis following the ingestion of 1 litre of isotonic saline." fun isn't it?

Ah homeostasis. I'm not into biology (in any way, shape or form) but I know quite a bit about it. Not enough to answer that question properly anyway.
