Omigod and I thought I was a punk

... and I've been glam all along...
I'm a longtime, pre-Everything Must Go Manics fan. I used to wear a lot of eyeliner and wanted a boyfriend like Richey Manic. While the world was mourning Kurt, I was hoping Richey would come back...
I wear a lot of glittery stuff.
I own a pair of red python-print boots, a furry lilac cow-print skirt and a fake pearl belt.
I air-kiss a lot (very Italian anyway, so that probably doesn't count).
I'm extremely articulate, although nobody will be able to tell from this post...
Will I have to resign from the Punk Society? Hope not.

i went to a placebo record signing wearing a spiked collar with a lacy hot pink hoop skirt, inch thick stage make up and an assortment of My Little Pony stickers in my backcombed hair. oh, and no eyebrows.
when i got up to meet mr molko he asked me if i was hot in my get-up. i said yes...but... (wait for it)...
i'm much hotter without it!
how salacious.
now i have brown hair and work in an office, and life isn't quite so saucy. but i'll always have 1999, my molko bob and without you i'm nothing.
congratualations on giving me the right kind of nostalgia (you cringe but you do it fondly).

Is he as tiny as he looks in pictures? Richey Manic was really short. Although not as short as James Manic, who reaches up to my chest... how embarrassing.

yep, he's pretty short, so he was sitting down the whole time, wearing sunglasses and looking nicotine-starved
but if you want to talk embarrassing, i can rememeber a friend of mine leaning over in maths and remarking on 'how cute the chick in placebo is'
i thought it was funny, but as he would say 'H.E!'
how embarrassing.
cheers

None, actually... not counting my glam rocker wannabe mates.
Glamour is a way of life It's about being fabulous and always picking the clothes that spangle, but also about having the brains and irony to pull them off!

My everyday mood is more casual - the people in my office are quite conservative and I don't want to attract too much attention to myself. I occasionally throw in a bit of spice if I'm in the mood, but generally speaking it's jeans and trainers (baggy jeans, classy trainers) for me.
I don't customise much, mostly due to lack of ability and time. I would like to, though...

Generally speaking, attention doesn't bother me, it's just in the work environment that I try not to be too conspicuous. As for the rest, hey, being glam is also about being comfortable with the clothes you're wearing. If neon-pink fishnets make you feel uncomfortable, you're likely to be unable to pull them off casually, which is really crucial in glamour: you should look like a million dollars in what you're wearing, just cos it suits you and you like yourself in it.

Back tracking to the Glam-punk idea for a sec - you think you've got problems, i am a hippy-cum-punk-cum-general rock chic(k) and now I find myself ireesistably drawn to Glam (and also Funk thanks to a club in town) as well. I feel so confused, its so hard to be all 3 at once.....

Well I suppose all rock crosses over somewhere, all I have to do is find the ultimate intersection. I mean look at Alice Cooper - is he glam? iis he goth? is he plain old rock? Jim morrison used to wear leather trousers and the Doors were technically a hippy band. So Ideally I need a pair of jeans (pref faded/stonewashed)
Some kind of cool jacket, lets say a leather one with a few 'decorations' (for the punk.metal side)
a T-shirt depicting a band i like
A tie (for the ska side)
A feather boa (perhaps)
Loads of eye make up and glitter 9for the glam)
And a floaty flowery headband 9for the hippy)
Hmmmm. I wonder if I could pull that off?
Perhaps I'll just go back to rotating my wardrobe to suit my mood! Lmao.
