My Father's Pacific Tour

Dad was an office worker. That hardly sounds like a war story but when the American forces took over Okinawa somebody had to sit there man the radio and type reports. That was my dad. At one point a typhoon struck and the quanset hut where he worked became unsafe so he sat out the storm huddled with the rest of his unit in heavy troop transport vehicles and watched the storm wreak havoc on the air base.
He was still there when we bombed Hiroshima and may have spoken to the plane while it was returning from Japan.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
