Firstly a great guide entery.

I've always been interested in heresy and hereitics, but ive never had the chance to actually look at it with any degree of understanding. This guide entery does it perfectly.

I went on to look at the church's statement regarding heresy, and found the funnest things about it the first line of the origins or heresy section where the church says that heresy was in fact gods idea. I think that small section sums up your point about blurred lines (how can i be a hereitic if god wants me to do this).

No problem at all, it was a joy to read.

Do you plan to do anything similar?

Um, yeah, but not for a bit. And it will be much longer. It's my dissertation. This is sort of the preface to my dissertation, although I've since reworked it for the academic side of my life. This was actually a paper I wrote for my advisor, whose only comment was, "good, but a bit chatty."

I hate academic writing.

Yeah, well, if you read my advisor's stuff...I love the guy, and he's forgotten more than I will ever know, but his books are, well, dry. Interesting topics, but he's got a very dry writing style.
