Great entry and probably very helpful for those new to web coding but I think I have found a small error:
You say that the TITLE tag is optional but recently the W3C HTML validator told me it was not valid HTML without a TITLE attribute in the HEAD section, this was using a transitional doc type.

Unless I mentioned it somewhere else, I can only see where I said it was shown on screen whereas other header information is not shown
