SashaQ writes: In the UK, the population of starlings has more than halved since the 1970s. As a result, I don't often see them around my house. I was very pleased to see a goodly flock of adults and juveniles land on my neighbour's television aerial recently.

Starlings on an aerial - some adults with shiny black plumage and some juveniles with buff speckled plumage.
