I have to agree!
A few year back, at certain times during the day
a large flock would decimate 
any "food" I put out for the "local" birds.
Now! I don't see Starlings for weeks on end 
and NOT in the numbers, now it's about 10/15 if that ?

That looks like a normal distribution. As in: any more and some risk being soiled by others higher up.

Sparrows/Starlings/Buntings (bird)/Thrush's etc have sort of disappeared "round here" replaced by white ring necked doves and town pigeons
