Najopomo 2020: Gravepicking

Gravepicking

Around 2009 an excavation took place near the Russian town of Marinskaya, performed by the Lomonosov Moscow State University, Institute of Archaeology RAS and ‘” Nasledie”. The excavation encompassed a large free standing burial mound that was used from the Early Bronze age up to the 1st century BCE. It was catalogued in detail.

For my “Hole in History” tale, I picked one late Maykop grave (number 25 to be precise) and started from there.

Enjoy!
