When an arm tumbles down,
Pinning you to the ground,
That's sagarro,
That's sagarro.
When a big cactus spine
On your chest carves a sign,
That's sagarro,
That's sagarro.
Oh, that trunk weighs a ton.
When it hits you, you're done,
You can't bellow.
This is not some strange play,
You have just passed away,
Silly fellow!

Given how long Winter has been upon us, I thought you could use something fun and silly to brighten your day, Dmitri.
A month ago I was reading about prickly pear cactus, which makes some delicious fruits.

And now I have another earworm. Thanks.
I've had prickly pear in Cyprus. I really can't remember what it tastes like, but I do recall enjoying it.
TRiG.

Is a prickly pear the same as a sabra?

paulh, vaccinated against the Omigod Variant Posted Feb 8, 2018
Sabra is the English version of the Hebrew word "tzabar," which means prickly pear. So, yes, they are one and the same, except that "Sabra" can also refer to a person who was born in Israel..

I knew that, but didn't know if it was the same fruit. , thanks! I knew a sabra once, and he told me it also meant 'prickly pear'.

We eat lots of prickly pears here in South Africa! The species actually has become invasive in many regions, crowding out many of our indigenous succulents. We had to import a cactus-eating beetle to combat them.
Cool cactus story by the way! Just check, autocorrect seems to have messed up your scientific name, it is Carnegiea gigantea not gigantean!
