Plum Bread

The best Lincolnshire plum bread, bar none, is made by Angie Hall of the Tea Cosy Cafe in Caistor. She uses her mother's recipe which she refuses to divulge, but I know it includes a tot of brandy. She makes small batches and a slice with butter and cheese is very good value at 70p.smiley - starsmiley - star
Thanks Galaxy for what will be a useful shopping list on further trips to Ireland.

Many, if not most, bomber squadrons were based in Lincolnshire during the second world war. The Dambusters were mostly based at RAF Scampton near where the cheese is made smiley - star.smiley - star
