Whoah there Lesley, what are you on about..?
Onions are rather good. I put a whole one in my recipe, currently being ignored at A889699
Try it man, you might like it

One? Onion? One! Just one! I think two very large white onions, and not those little mild childrens ones. Lots of onions are needed. Lots and lots. Seriously though, what sort of cottage/shepherds/sausage pie is it with half a red onion in? I'd presonally go for 2 white onions and at least one red as well. Loads and loads of lovely onions. And! garlic salt!!! What's wrong with adding a bit of real garlic? Why mess around with it??

See I wasn't sure about this when I was editing it, how about I go ask one of the editors to change it to 1 whole onion?
That's all I'd generally use...then again, this is someones personal recipe and open to alteration from person to person

And I did put a footer about putting real garlic in.
That's just the authors preference for garlic salt, maybe it's because it's easier.

1 onion? 1 onion? nononononononon! You want more than one onion! Get rid of the meat and potatoes and carrots if necessary, more onions are needed. Also, a few baked beans added can improve it if you don't have the carrots of garlic on hand. But, onions! Onions! Lots of!

I tell you for your own good dammit! People would on average be 24% happier if they increased their consumption of onions by just 16%. This is the truth, it comes from National Office of Statistics files and was thoroughly researched during World War II. I think it is something to do with chemical contained within the onion which causes a very similar chemical reaction in the brain to that of cocaine, except without the damaging side-effects and high price.

It's not garlic salt, it's granulated garlic- basically little chips of dried garlic- so much easier than pissin' about with gloves of the stuff.
Half a red onion- well, that's all I ever use, but then it depends how big the onions are, or how much you like onion
Fiddle about with the recipe as much as you want- there's a comment up there somewhere to that effect- add peppers, or mushies, or whatever takes your fancy.

Must get myself a pair of those.

Ohhh.... Preview woman, preview .
Mindyou, garlic gloves would probably work wonders for getting rid of unwanted attention, just wave at the pest, and puf! All gone.

But still, dried garlic? DRIED GARLIC?? You must be joking. Please tell me that you are indeed having a laugh. Go on. You with your half an onion and dried garlic. We need some nice powerful onions in this pie, it'll make it lovely. Half an onion, left to simmer for 6 weeks in diesel. Mmmmmm.
Onions and garlic, is there a better food-stuff in the whole world? So waffley versatile, you can grill them, bake them, fry them, eat them...
LOTS OF ONIONS AND REAL CLOVES OF GARLIC GODDAMMIT!!!!!
