what is "bubble and squeak" in reference to cooking? Is it the juices and oils in the pan from browning meat?
what is "DIY" in reference to getting things done? Does that mean "Do It Yesterday" in your country?

DIY is Do it yourself
and
Bubble and squeak (at least up here) is mashing up the leftovers of large meals for another meal. offten found were food is expensive, and now is a well thought of english trait.

Hi....
Hmmm..I'd translate bubble & squeak a little differently..
As unused..(what's left in saucepan after serving).. mashed potato and green vegtables..(i.e. cabbage)..mashed together..&..fried..

Same kind of thing, I don't care for it, so I don't realy have a good bias of it.
